Course Overview
Our competence based course, accredited by City & Guilds, is designed to give an introduction in hazardous area concepts for the use of electrical equipment. The course explains the protection methods from manufacture to installation, inspection and maintenance.

10 Units with written assessment covering:
- Area classification
- Ignition properties
- EN/IEC standards for electrical and instrumentation
- Ingress protection
- Flameproof
- Increased safety
- ‘n’ types of protection
- Pressurization
- Intrinsic safety
- Hybrid protection
- Written assessment
Target Audience
Personnel with electrical, instrument or mechanical background within industry who require a basic understanding of explosion protection systems.
