High Voltage Safe Working Practices – ROV’s
Course Overview
This course meets the requirements of IMCA’s R 005 guidance document – Appendix I part A (International Marine Contractors Association – High Voltage Equipment: Safety Procedures for working on ROV’s) and is designed to provide training on the safe operation techniques for high voltage and low voltage electrical systems associated with Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV’s).
The course provides examples of mandatory paperwork, legislation and safe isolation procedures.

- HSE and Electricity at Work Regulations
- Dangers of contact with electricity
- Permit to Work requirements
- HV / LV distribution systems and protection
- Earthing
- Testing, fault-finding & maintenance
- Practical safe isolation exercises
- Written assessment
Target Audience
All personnel involved with the operation of ROV’s, electrical, instrument or mechanical personnel, who require an understanding of HV / LV safe working practices.
